Public Sector Unions go on strike in Greece
The union workers of public sector went on a 3 hour work stoppage on Friday reacting against the cut in bonus pay and pension freeze, in Greece. The Greek government has taken this austerity measure to decrease the debt crisis. The two main unions whose strength is almost 50 percent of the total workforce in Greece has remarked that cutting their pay cuts and increasing VAT by 2 percent to offset a debt crisis of around 300 million euros is ridiculous.
They retorted saying that it may only lead to more debt and unemployment. They have called for another full day strike in the month of March.
