Acoustic technique used to find bird population

Do you know the number of different birds around you?

It is difficult to find the number of bird’s species around us. Usually birds would be caught in nets which would be difficult for us as it was time consuming and tired for the birds.

British Ecological Society’s has announced in a journal that nowadays they are using acoustic technique for bird counting.

Microphone arrays records the bird sounds. The communication of birds happen through singing and these can be recorded to find out the birds population. Deanna Dawson is the man behind this acoustic technique. And any method that does not hurt and affect the sensitive and soft birds, is welcome.
